Microwave drying is different from traditional drying, and its heat conduction direction is the same as that of water diffusion. Compared with traditional drying methods, it has the advantages of high drying rate, energy saving, high production efficiency, uniform drying, clean production, easy to realize automatic control and improve product quality. The application and theory of microwave drying technology have been studied extensively abroad as early as the 1960s, and it has been further developed in recent decades. The research of microwave drying technology in our country started late and has a certain gap compared with foreign countries. Although many achievements have been made, the application of microwave drying technology is relatively narrow, mostly staying in the experimental stage or small-scale production stage. The research of composite microwave drying technology needs to be expanded. The instantaneous mass transfer and heat transfer theory of microwave drying is insufficient, which is compatible with microwave drying technology. The development of the equipment and instruments still needs to be strengthened. In addition, although the application theory of microwave drying in natural rubber drying has made great progress, there are still many problems to be solved in its scale, continuity and automation. The effects of microwave drying on rubber molecular structure, non-rubber components and process properties of products need to be further studied. in order to improve the drying speed, it is necessary to raise the external temperature and increase the temperature gradient, but it is easy to produce the phenomenon of endogenous material coke. However, when microwave heating is used, no matter what the shape of the material is, the heat can penetrate evenly, and the expansion effect can be produced, which is conducive to crushing. Under the action of microwave, the drying rate of materials tends to be uniform and the heating is uniform. Moreover, microwave drying technology does not affect the color, aroma, taste and structure of the dried materials, and the active ingredients are not easy to be decomposed and destroyed. Relevant research institutes are beginning to adopt microwave drying instead of traditional drying in order to solve the problem of uneven drying when traditional drying methods are used to dry Sichuan traditional Chinese medicines. The microwave equipment has fewer supporting facilities, less land occupation, convenient operation, continuous operation, and is convenient for automatic production and enterprise management (through PLC programming control, temperature adjustable). Microwave drying process has a high energy efficiency, because the heat of microwave is directly generated in the wet material, with less heat loss, high thermal efficiency and no environmental and noise pollution, which can greatly improve the working environment. In the next few years, the domestic microwave dryer industry will continue to develop and become an important driving force to promote the development of the domestic microwave dryer industry. Therefore, the production enterprises should not only carry out fundamental transformation in drying technology, but also carry out comprehensive and multi-level energy-saving technical transformation, vigorously develop and apply the drying technology of renewable energy and industrial waste heat.
